Chirag is an agribusiness professional with more than 14 years of experience. He is an alumnus of Delhi University and GB Pant University, Pantnagar. He has been part of the public sector advisory team of Grant Thornton Bharat more than 11 years with key expertise in the food processing, agriculture and horticulture sector. He has worked on more than 50 assignments in different food and agribusiness fields. Currently, he is handling projects with the World Bank, ADB, National Horticulture Board, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Ministry of Animal Husbandry. Chirag has worked with 16 states of the country and has international exposure to Japan, Europe, UAE and South East Asia.

He has handled infrastructure projects with an approximate investment to the tune of USD 1 billion and supported around 1 million farmers in the country. His international experience includes working for initiatives around Dubai Expo; assisted the Japanese Government to leverage cold chain potential in India; was part of India’s Delegation to ANUGA Germany; and had assisted in international events in varying leadership capacities.

Chirag has been instrumental in implementing the Mega Food Parks Scheme of Govt of India. A pilot programme implemented with Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium, GoI has been observed as one of the best programmes implemented in the FPO space. Currently, he has been working as a Team Leader on Cluster Development Programme of National Horticulture Board, which is a programme of national importance supporting an investment of 10,000 Cr in the country covering value chains of Mango, Apple, Pineapple, Pomegranate, Grapes, Banana and Turmeric. He has been closely working with a range of corporates in the Agri – Food processing sector to scale sustainable impacts.
